Thank for the reply.

The data is related but not exactly in a parent child relationship. I now see that I can just call the SaveDataSet of the biz objects in any order I wish and things like transactions and true parent child relationships are maintained

If they are not registered children of the primary or its children they must be there to populate the datasource of comboboxes in which case there would be no changes to save. If you are updating business objects which are unrelated to the primary business object of the form shouldn't they rather be placed on a different form?
