If you want to get whatever specific in currently seleted row then the general approach is to add two controls (containers) into a column and use DynamicCurrentControl property evaluated by Recno.

>Yep that definitely complicates things. If you can't find another way, you could put 2 textboxes in the column, set sparse to F, and switch boxes during got and lost focus events. Kind of a pain, though. Did the other solution work out?

The problem with setting SPARSE to False is that if you have other properties for the textbox control, such as the backcolor being yellow (in order to have the currently selected record standing out), then thhe whole column takes that property and you end up with a whole column of yellow entries rather than just the one selected by the end-user.
