>A big thanks to all those who offered suggestions for creating an ASCII viewer as well as for printing reports correctly in a dot matrix printer. I am happy to report that we now have a solution that works for us. At the moment it is based on Codemine classes, but as soon as possible I'll change to basic VFP classes and post it.

How about Wordpad ?
Since you are dealing with this kind of reporting you might find some use of my 'CodeRep' tool here in downloads. You can create txt reports directly in code and preview them/print with wordpad .
By tweaking class littlebit you can also produce dot-matrix reports very easy.
I did not make subclass for dot-matrix printing simply because we don't use them any more.
But meny people still do.
Have look at it when u hv time :)
