The account /customer example was really an example, I was trying not to muddy the waters by actually including what I need to do in realilty.

The event object does seem like the way to go, but I have got problems seeing how the event object works when dropped on a form.

That is, when the user clicks 'new' on the toolbar the new method on the form is called. This method checks a few things before calling out to the new method of the primary biz object associated with the form.

I can't say I know how to get the form to call the executeevent method of the event object rather than the 'new' method of the primary biz object.

I sort of need the 'new' method code to run as far as checking that everything is ok to start adding a record, but not actually add the record via a call to the primary biz object.
