Who knows, perhaps people can make WinForms data apps work really well using some simple trick or technique that I have missed. Or perhaps VS2005 will address some of the concerns, whereupon previous performance issues will suddenly be acknowledged ;-)

Lest anybody think that the above exhibits bias, that is exactly what happened in VFP3- there was a dreadful requery memory leak that was only admitted after the fix was released. Meantime I (and a customer!) spent months tearing our hair, reviewing code over and over, and breaking processes into chunks so they would complete.
