Terry,

A solid rebuttal, and good for you for that.

The last thing I want to do is to get in the middle of ANY discussion with religion and hate at its core, so I confine my remarks to a single statement you made: "The problem for Jews in this association, as described by George Soros (a Jew), is that the goal of the Christian Evangelicals is the destruction of Israel because it will hasten the so-called "second coming".".

I have been hearing variations on this a whole lot recently, especially it seems as the U.S. election nears. I've heard it stated another way (though I agree it amounts to the same thing), parphrasing...'the Christian Evangelicals protect Israel at any cost because Israel is a critical factor in achieving the RAPTURE'. The idea is that the world must have Israel/Jews because it is them who will pay the price (be killed/dismembered) for entry into RAPTURE.

My first thought whenever I hear that is that the whole idea is most UNChristian in the extreme and that the promoters of the concept are far more guilty of the promotion of "hate". Sure, it's cleverly disguised as love (of a sort), but is it any different than, say, keeping cattle around because we get hungry? And these are the self-same people who vehemently "protect life" (anti-abortion), encourage the death penalty, and would have preferred that the Afghanistan and Iraq wars were the beginning of the annihilation of all Muslims (as stated directly by both Pat Robertson and Franklin Graham on at least one occasion each). A very curious brand of Christianity, if you ask me.

regards
