>The amount of resources Microsoft puts into a product

A bit of a tangent from the original thread topic, but I have to disagree. If MS marketed VFP as the great tool it is for database development, then their revenue from VFP would increase. It's disingenous for them to say "well, we can't put resources into this because we don't make enough money off it" when the reason they don't make more money is their own lack of marketing. And the reason they don't market it is because they can charge more for the VB/SQL or .NET/SQL combination. Ultimately, they will try to sell the most of what makes them the most money, despite their marketing slogans about helping us "fulfill our potential" (I can fulfill a great deal of my potential with a great tool like VFP, but they want me to use another one because they are really concerned about their potential, not mine). But they'd make good money from VFP if they just marketed it.

>crying and whining will not help, it's a waste of time.
>Let's accept things as they are, and make the best out of it.

Well, what's that, exactly? Is speaking up and not going along quietly just crying and whining? Not in my book. We have a valid case for what a great product VFP is and to attempt to get MS to treat it with the respect it deserves is not crying and whining. I'm not saying that you're saying that, of course, but I just wish more people would make more noise about VFP and maybe MS would pay attention. Also, if we could jettison the people who say they are a part of this community, but actually just stab us in the back, that would help, too. There are some big names that I would not miss if I never saw another article from them in FoxPro Advisor or FoxTalk or they never gave another presentation at a conference.
