Title:
Mozilla Uninstall caused big problems
Mozilla Uninstall caused big problems with deleting *way* too many files.
What happened was, I went into the Start\Control Panel\"Add or Remove Programs" and found Mozilla 1.7.3. & Clicked on Remove button. Then a dailog box popped up asking if it was OK to delete all *something* files associated with Mozilla. I clicked Yes. Then Another dialog box popped up and asked more or less the same question. Again I clicked yes. [Boo-Hoo] Then it took way too much time on deleting Mozilla. When it was complete it had wiped out all except 5 of my desktop Icons & had corrupted the Win XP home OS. We were able to restore from the OS "mirror" from the previous day so it would boot and the Icons were restored.
That's when I discovered that a lot of files were still missing, including the Outlook Express Address Book and all the Codemine Table files (DBF,CDX,FPT), the VFP7 Project files, and the form (scx) files... and probably some others.
Fortunately I had a backup as of Oct 5, 2004 & so was able to restore the Codemine directories without losing much work.
Has anyone else experienceed this sort of behavior?
