Right click on the properties windows's title bar and check 'always on top', then you can click between the form and the properties window as needed. If the properties window is active but hidden, click twice (not a double click) on the properties window button on the form designer toolbar to bring the properties window to the front. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the properties window does not show up on the main menu's Window pad.
