I just read over what I wrote before and see a typo -- sorry.

This example:

<xsd:element name="Items" type="xxx:Items"/>

should have been

<xs:element name="Items" type="xxx:Items"/>

... because, in the xml document in question, the alias for the relevant namespace was xs, not xsd.
