PKZip25 is a .exe file. It is PKZIP v2.50, the command line version. After playing around and doing a little debugging, I believe I found the issue. CMD.EXE in Windows XP does not support UNC paths. (It did in Win 95 and Win 98 or at least we were able to make it work back then.) How did this get figured out? I used the .vcx contol calling PKZIP25 in batch file.

So I guess its on to purchasing a more modern zip application such as DynaZip which I understand provides specific controls for Vfp. Was hoping to wait until the next upgrade of our app but technology time marches on.
