Thanks for your help Sergey, I found a bit of a kludge to fix it.

I copied all the tables into my master database for the purpose of getting this working using DTS and I could then directly access the tables as this was set as the default database.

Still reading up on what I have done wrong with the set up of my SQL server DB however and will update if I find any answers.
