I am having trouble getting VFP 7 to quit. On startup, if the program is more than X days old I want to automatically downloand and run an update program. I have gotten everything to work but cannot get the current VFP program to quit. Here is the sequence of events:
Check dates

if date>X
Run FTPengine program to download and run update-- run /N program name
quit VFP by calling the shutdown procedure
endif

The shutdown procedure runs, but even thought clear events runs VFP will not quit. In the debugger the active line is the line after clear events.

I know that the correct way to do this would be to run a startup program, but at this point that is not possible.
