Hi jim.
Although I believe what you are saying, I don't neccessarily believe you know the whole "deal" between the Canadian gov't and the US companies. I think if you look at the actual "deal", you're liable to see all kinds of clauses and pay-offs paid by the Canadian gov't to the US drug companies. And ultimately, it's the Canadian citizens that pay for it.

Hey, but I'm not an expert on international business.

>Just for your information, many (most) of the drugs that U.S. citizens come north to buy at half price or less are manufactured in the U.S. and shipped here for sale. The drug companies are looking very hard for ways to curtail such shipments.

>We have price "controls" and in return I believe that the drug companies get extensions on their patent protection here. Our controls have most to do with reasonableness of the profit to the drug companies.

>>>I wonder why pharmaceutical companies in other countries are still in business even though they charge a fraction of what United States companies charge for the same drugs?

>>Perhap their companies are Gov't subsidized? If so, I'd think that their tax rate is off the chart.
>>
>>I'm saying its good or bad. It's just another way of running a country I guess.
