Several years ago, I created an application which used the Windows Media Player 8 ActiveX control to allow users to go through a series of training videos we have created. Everything worked great until my customers started upgrading to Windows Media Player 9 or 10. The old activex control no longer works at that point.

I have fooled around a little bit with the WMP 9 control. The only problem I have found is that I cannot resize the video. Regardless of the size I specify for the video, it always resizes to the native size of the video. I can probably work around that, although I am not very happy with it.

My other concern is that while the same code seems to work with WMP 9 or WMP 10, I don't want everything to break again when Microsoft releases the next version.

I like using Windows Media Player as opposed to something like the FFC video player and other things I have seen because of the ability to use WMP's fullscreen mode and slicker interface for play/pause, etc.

So.

First, is there anyway to get the old WMP 8 control to still work on an upgraded computer?

Second, is there any way to fix the resize issue with WMP 9/10?

Third, what the heck method should I really be using to display videos out of a FoxPro app anyway!

Thanks,
