Ok, all this is related to something else. I will however try to help you from here.

The color rendering is weird. I don't recall having changed something on the top toolbar in months. I would recommend clearing all temp files of the browser and restarting it. This could also be related to a bad connection which you may experience temporary which could cause this effect is the top toolbar is not loading properly.

As for the HTML code appearing when you were writing a message, could you help me and tell me more about it? I would need to know more such as on which message you were replying to?
