I think that leaving the "visited" colour as-is for ALL forums is the proper way to go. Like most others, I too make heavy use of that to know that I already read a message. This must not be changed, I fully agree.
Now that I can view with "dual" color I see that the color for a "visited" message is the same in both 'base' colors - purplish. This works fine for me.

Yes, there are now a total of 4 colors at the top frame - blue, dark green, purplish (visited) and black, but I do not feel confused at all and I do feel 'helped' because it is now much clearer that I have changed FORUMS.
