Hi,
There are many causes, I will list them below.

1. Corrupted indexes - Rebuild index from scratch, not reindex.
2. Corrupted foxuser - delete foxuser.* it will be recreated at next startup.
3. Problems with video driver - Update driver to latest.
4. Corrupted video driver - reinstall.
5. Problems with NIC Driver - Update driver.
6. Corrupted NIC Driver - reinstall.
7. Malfunctioning NIC - Replace.
8. Server Hard Disk Controller on the way out - Replace Controller. This is rare but I have had it happen twice on older equipment.
9. Data corruption in dbf - find it and remove.
10. Power spikes - add filtering or UPS, reindex.
11. Project corruption - open as a dbf and pack.
12. DBC corruption - open as a dbf and pack.
13. TCPIP Stack corrupt - remove and reinstall.
14. DNS settings incorrect - reset to correct settings. Tell idiot who changed them to leave alone. These can get stuffed up if a system migration isn't properly. i.e. during a server upgrade, everything works until old server taken off line. There are references to the old server.
15. Last but not least, Bad mouse driver - upgrade mouse driver.
