Long time no see! Hope you're well!

It will become harder and harder for you to find pcl-compatible printers. I believe that none of the $200 lasers that came out during the past year are pcl-compatible - they're like most inkjets, just dumb toner squirters and all the real processing is done by the drivers and not by the printer.
