Title:
User needs access to c:\windows\system
I sent a potential client a demo of my application. When she tried to install it, it came up with a message along the lines of:
C:\windows\system32\msxml3r.dll could not be opened. Unable to get access.
I told her to get her network administrator to install it, and fortunately he was willing and the software installed without a problem.
Is there a way to avoid this issue? I would think that some potential clients would install the software, get to this error, and then give up.
(My program also uses Crystal reports 9).
The second problem is that after successful install, the software did not run. We came to the conclusion that the administrator had to come back to her PC and give her rights to modify the folder where my application is installed.
Two hurdles that a potential client has to overcome to give my software a test.
I would like to make it easier for a client to test my application. Any advice?
