Jim,

You're probably missing a Forum setting ... I'm guessing that you have "Automatic Reset of New Messages" checked for the .NET forum, but you also have it set to not Expand. You need to remove the check for the automatic reset. Then, the count will only reset when you click on the reset icon next to message count (next to the forum title).
