The main important setting is "Automatic reset of new messages". If you had that setting check for .NET, no matter if you expand or not, it will be interpreted as an automatic reset of new messages. So, the next time you refresh or login, those messages won't appear.

However, I did check your setting and that setting is off. Did you turn it off later on today after you logged in?
