>>Talk about talking points and political rhetoric. Didn't I just hear Cheney utter "put his finger in the air and thought the wind was blowing that way" those very same words in a speech today? Yes, I do listen to both sides and seriously consider everything that is discussed. You should try it. I agree with neither side on everything.

You are absolutely right no one can agree with both sides on everything. I for one agree with neither side on everything. However I do agree with some things from each side. I guess I'm a just flip flopper.<s>

>>As far as supporting Bush initially in the decision to invade Iraq, that was when the country was in such a furor after 9/11 where everyone was united in support of the president in the War on Terror. I too believed that what the president told this country was true and assumed that he knew more than I did and had our best interest at heart. What this administration did was take advantage of that patriotic spirit to push through its agenda and shift focus to Iraq. Unfortunately we have been deceived and have been taken down a very dangerious path. What was that old adage that Bush misquoted, "Fool me once...UH UH .. Shame on me...UH UH ...You won't fool me again".

No, I'm not ignoring anything. I realize that Saddam was a bad man and should not have been in power. If fact the US should not have never aided and allowed dealings with Saddam when he was the "enemy of my enemy so therefore he is my fiend" years when he was killing Iranians. I think that the rush to war with Iraq was this administration's agenda but not necessarily the next logical step in the war on terror or in our best interest when there was much more work to be done elsewhere first. The Bush administration used the patriotic support that they had for the war on terror because of 9/11 to shift focus to Iraq because they could and perhaps wouldn't have been able to garner the same support at a later time.

>>BTW, Since you seem to be part of Bush's base. Taking Bush's own words, Are you one of the Have's or the Have More? <bg>

>I guess I'd fit into the "hard workers". I'm middle class, but I live in a house that appraised for just under 1/2 million and is around 7k sft. I built it myself though, put my life savings into it and still owe about 280k. I'm also a cop, so you should know that means I don't make a ton of money there. Then there's the consulting thing and I do ok with that.

Just wondering where you fit in since George W Bush in his own words has defined his base as the Have's and Have More.
