I checked your account setting and you participate in .NET and VFP forums. Both are set to automatic reset of new messages, which is the same as before when you were switching from one to another. The only difference now is that you get all new messages from all forums you participate. If you wish to have the previous behavior, simly uncheck automatic reset of new messages for .NET and those messages will only disappear as soon as you click on the Reset icon of that forum.

If you more over 400, that limit can be increased to 1000. But, that is not a factor of the recent change as you partipcate in only two forums and the other one, which is .NET, doesn't have that much of new messages to affect that limit.
