> 1. Delphi 2005 and Delphi 8.0, are they same?

No, Delphi 8 is for only .NET and Delphi 2005 is for Win32/.NET/C# development, also si the lastest version (ie: can be called Delphi 9)

> 2. I need honest answer..;>)) which 's better VB6 or VB.NET or Delphi 2005?

Than VB almost any is better ;) VB.NET is a real new animal and is better too. The advantages with Delphi :

- Support in a single ide AND codebase for Win32/.NET plataforms. Today, make .NET applications make sense for ASP.NET, not native applications

- Include C# for compatibility with existent projects. Can VB.NET too but not have all the toys...

- A mature product for all types of applications, with best components and large and great thirdy-party support.

- Not a "exist only a way that solve everything" proposition like with VS. In the MS camp, always the thing is the same: ODBC is the king, later: No is ADO! today NO is ADO.NET! and that. With Delphi have diferent components for diferent task...

- A proven implementation of ALM, UML/MDA

- Support for tecnologies, not only the MS ones... like connection with Java (Janeva) support (real) for Oracle, sybase, Interbase/Firebird and others

>3. What version of Delphi should I choose? Prof or Enterprise?

For the most part, the Profersional is cool enough. Match to the VS Enterprise. Also, cost less and you can fill any gap with thirdy-party. If have a specific requeriment, you can consult the community and have the best advice.

Also, if you only are learning, start with Pro then later see if the upgrade justify. Also, if plan buy Enterprise or Architect is best buy with Software Assurance than alone (can save a lot of bucks later)
