Maybe it's just a 'delay' from Evan, while he is researching... Or, since the proper word is 'discovered' not 'invented', it could be that Evan meant to say that Banting 'invented the discovery' ;)
If what I read about how the 1923 Nobel Prize was awarded is true, then definitely Don Cherry deserves a higher ranking than Dr. Banting.
In 'Lessons from the History of Insulin', Sir George Alberti, makes a good case for Paulescu's role, but I found interesting his coment about the Nobel Prize: "I personally believe
that such prizes and awards do more harm than good and should be abolished."
