Good sound-bite arguments, most of which could apply to the other side of the fence as well. Not only did the US go without UN approval it also went on a claim of the existence of wmd, including nuclear. Neither the wmd that were claimed to be a threat have been found nor the evidence of their manufacture nor any serious evidence of their purchase (except what was invented as proof).

But this thread is already full of the (mostly empty) arguments from all sides. imo CharlesH and TerryT have offered the most compelling and knowledgeable arguments for each side of this coin. No need for my 2c opinion.

I do wonder though that with the thousands of Arab civilians dead or horribly maimed, including women and children, whether the world is really a safer place. How much hate do you think a man can have when his child has lost both arms in a "precision" bombing strike executed with Donald Rumsfields "humaneness"?

As long as each side argue from a position of righteousness the world is worse off ... except perhaps the weapons makers.
