My example was incomplete; I neglected to show the REFRESH that was there.

Unfortunately, that is not sufficient. I ended up with:

   INDEX ON bla-bla-bla
   GOTO TOP
   THIS.REFRESH
   
   GOTO lnRecno
   THIS.REFRESH

This seems to be work, and reliably, but only with both GOTOs and both REFRESHs.
