Is bad chosee for others!

You must decide for yourself. Get the programs, play with it. My decision is biased because is taken, i develop in Delphi for my company and in VB.NET for a consulting contract. I consider Delphi because give me a edge, i see that is common "use MS tools for get a Job, use Borland tools for your own company".

The Delphi proposition is best for me because let me build for several plataforms/markets... the customers not are saying: Give .NET, give .NET! But rather: Give lower TCO! I need real working software! The cycle of technology upgrading is more slow now and the people is not so ignorant like before, take decision a "little" best. Also have experience with monster/failure software.

In the win32, Delphi give me lower cost in licensing&deployment to my users; is a combination of things: Delphi let me know that exist a whole world outside MS and work great in a MS plataform, so i don't only use Acces, Sql Server or FoxPro, but Firebird/Interbase meaning lower TCO for my clients against Sql Server. Let me know that i don't really need COM+ for multi-tier, so lower Admin problems/security problems because i can deploy Internet-Enabled/Firewall friendly server (i'm using now the components of www.remobjects.com but is because are more easy to work, but with plain Delphi is more than ok). I can forget about runtime/dll hell (anti-dll hell was not invented by MS with .NET, is a reality from years with Delphi), i can pack any dll/package/engine inside the executables and be sure not have troubles with multiple versions. I can build more kind of programs, and not leave the IDE/language (so, if you have VB was common have things made with C++. Now with .NET is the same: .NET is mega-great for a lot of things but for the GUI is not: Meaning? If want a real solution, need other IDE/Language for clients)....

Is a lot of factors, but like i say, my opinion is biased: I can get a job any day because i know VFP/.NET from years now, i'm a MCP and have a reputation good enough, but for my own company with not doubt use Delphi...

So, like some says, not put all eggs in only a place...
