There are fringe loonies in all groups, not just Christians.
I'm a Christian believer/follower, in fact a fundalmentalist Christian.
I think they have pretty much pinpointed the earth's age at around 4.6 billion years and the universe/time began 14-18 billion years ago. Christianity and science are not contradictory.
