xCASE is a very valuable tool (try to manage 170 tables in the VFP's DBC editor .. )
but it has a terrible user interface , I especially don't like the view desginer

I really hope MS will decide to enhance the VFP ODBC drivers so that we can user some of the other CASE tools out there directly

so basically if your design includes more than a couple of tables
you will find you need to use a CASE tool
in terms of the way it interacts with VFP - xCASE is currently the best choice you have
