Perhaps she isn't all that smart after all - if she can't get a job. Maybe she picks her nose in an interview and isn't even aware of it. I've met many super-intelligent people in the past and, for some, have thought "Jeez! Who gave that guy a job?" because they were so socially inept they raised the hairs on the back of your neck.
