It has a contact list like ICQ or MSN Messenger and you can send instant messages just as these other instant-messengers do. It also has the ability to do voice/video chats with people on your contact list. What makes this one really unique though is that you can get the server software and setup you're own chat-room. I've been playing with the thing for a couple of months now - and having messed around with pretty much every videochat gizmo availbe for windows this one seems to have the best performance.
