I must be misunderstanding a basic point with vss.

I am using vss, not integrated with the ide, with several VFP projects and 2 users.

Whenever I do a get latest version on a file (say a .vcx) that my team member has compiled and checked in, I get it as a readonly file (even though the get latest version dialog has "writeable" ticked). When I recompile, vfp wants to write to said vcx and thus I get an error and have to go into explorer and mark the files as readonly before compiling.

Am I being a dill here ?
