it is a new feature into VFP8.
1. On it the formset don't exist.
2. I have not define a DE subclass.

It is strange your concept for External objects:
Is This a external objects ? No because you cannot do a Removeobject for it.

ADD OBJECT DE AS Dataenvironment

I expected no errors into VFP6 and 7 and 8 and...
This remains a bug for me.
