>>I am printing some reports from FPW 2.6, and they print fine from my machine. Other users on our network print the same reports, but when they do, any variable in the heading of the report prints out as black ink box. I have tried "send to back/send to front" in modify report, but it does not seem to work. I have also looked at other users' printer drivers, and they appear to be correct. I am using windows 3.1 loaded on my local machine, while the other users are using a network copy of Windows 95.

>What you need to do is modify report and re-enter the items which are coming out as black 'blocks'. That is the only way I found of recovering from this. You will need to do this in a W95 machine though. I was in the same situation as yourself whereas I created reports in W3.1 then everybody upgraded to W95 and this happened.

I've seen this also as Nigel describes, but I believe I had to resolve it two different ways. For some reports it was just a matter of of opening the report form on a Win95 machine with the appropriate tables, indexes, etc. in place, then do a PreView to make sure it appears correctly, and save the report (yes, I didnt really have to edit anything.) But for some of my other reports, I found the problem to be that the reports were originally created with some fancy font that no longer existed on my Win95 user machines. So for those I just modified the report to use standard Times New Roman or Arial fonts and all was well again. HTH
