Hi jordan,

>Hi Jim,
>every good with the same quality cost the same all over the world.

Not true. As I mentioned before there are great differences. Electronics for example are about 30% cheaper in the US than in Holland. Since I travel to the US and Canada a few times a year, I can by my computer hardware there, but then at schiphol (our airport) I'll have to pay the taxes anyways, making up the difference

Many people living next to germany move over to germany, because houses are bigger and cheaper in Germany. For getting gasoline they also go to Belgium and Germany because of price differences.

When I was in turkey I could buy golded juwelry for roughly the half price I'd pay in holland.

When I was in germany shortly after the wall came down in November 1999, I'd pay 7 Eurocents (~$0.09) for half a litre of berliner kindle in the middle of berlin. Having a sandwich, about 10 cents either. Electronics where very cheap, yet about noone in the former east Germany could afford them.

However, when I went to london, I was unpleasantly surprised in paying for a hotelroom, getting some pints in a bar or even getting to mc donalds. It was utterly expensive. While in Canada having a full breakfeast with thea, toast, fries, bacon and some salad costs only a few bucks. Paris was something in between.

Prices differ al arround the world for a few reasons:
- Taxes,
- Labour costs / Procution costs
- Importing costs
- Currency exchange rates.
- ...

I don't know if you travel a lot to outside your country, but it does not sound so. If you do you will see that there are great differences.

The globalization certainly will reduce the difference in time, esspecially within the EU. The question is if that is a good thing though.

Walter,

>If price is different globalization will help to rise export from place where good is cheaper to place where good is expensive and in some moment the cost of the goods will be the same.
>Outsourcing an Internet do this in software development. I know indians which hourly rate is over $25 and they do not accept lower offers. In the same moment there is canadians which offer $15 hourly rate. Some of them are members of UT.
>This may be is hell for you, but for me is reality. I do not complain, nevertheless that I like some goods to be cheaper here because standard of living is lower. This force me to support my parents because I don't like they to live in poverty.
