<< I can't wait... how do I get a sneak peek? >>
Gonna be at DevCon?
<< Will there be a charge for moving to the Tahoe version? >>
We're planning on 2 releases for Tahoe. The first one is just a straight port of our current version with whatever changes were/are necessary to make it run under Tahoe. We haven't decided if this will be a free upgrade or not.
The second release, which will include a basically totally revamped and streamlined framework, tons of new features in the framework, a new & improved interface for VFE, the inclusion of DBCX2 and lot of other new features, bells & whistles will definitely not be free. We haven't set an upgrade price for it yet, but it'll probably be something like $299 for 60-90 days after release and then $349 thereafter. We will probably allow owners of FE 2.x to upgrade directly to the Tahoe version at those prices as well.
<< Need beta testers? >>
Right now we've got a very short list of beta testers and we're planning on keeping the beta relatively small - as opposed to the 800+ we ended up with last time. I do have you on a list of people to consider.
<< Will it support n-Tier using MTS? >>
I don't know about MTS, but it definately will support n-Tier. A lot of the reworking we've done with the framework was done to let you decide if you want to make components COM/DCOM servers and we're doing a lot of work to make the framework useful when the UI for your application is going to be done in something other than VFP.
