Our product has the function that reads a single character in the receiving buffer of the COM port an then removes it. It returns the ASC value of the read character. If the receiving buffer does not contain any characters, the function returns a negative value. You may use it in a simple loop to read the entire output of the serial device. I can send you a demo version with a sample code that you can use for testing.
