Institutionalized? Perhaps not, but what happened there (or then) had a tremendous impact on the world and continues to have it 2000 years later.

Kinda reminds me of Abraham, who couldn't keep his **** in his pants and as a result we have the israeli/palestinian problem today. Morale: if you're thinking of cheating on your wife, stop for a moment and consider what consequences this might have 5000 years down the road.
