One thing that I keep mentioning in cases like this is to force a flush of the table by opening it again, doing something to the last record, saving, undoing, saving, and then closing the table. Could be as benign as adding a dot at the end of a comment field and then removing it, or blanking and restoring a field.

I don't have a situation anymore where I can try this, but in old W98/FPD2.6 situations this has saved data even in situations where a workstation would get stuck. If this manipulation was able to force flush on workstations (even stuck ones - probably only the keyboard or the DOS subsystem was stuck) back then, it may just work today.
