Yes, it repaints once before then repainting at the desired resolution. This was much worse in earlier builds, and I know that the issue has been addressed to a degree already.

Or, in fact, in 9.0 when SET REPORTBEHAVIOR 80. It's a quirk of the Xbase preview.
