I have merge publication and I need to change a field type. When I try add a field to the published table I get an error about "to many columns in the partition" and cannot add to it. Does anyone know how I can accomplish changing from character to numeric data and avoid this error, without deleting my publication. I tried doing it in code direct to the table as well and it cannot drop the table. I need to change it in the publication somehow. Can someone tell me where it stores the field definition of the publication. I found where the articles are but it does not break it down by fields and there types?
