I can recall a man who wore a wooden sign over the front and rear of his body. It was 1945 and I was three years old. This man stood at Market and Powell Streets in San Francisco for over 30 years for many hours of each day. The sign he wore stated: “Repent sinner – the end is near!” and there was a reference to Biblical scripture. Twenty-seven years have passed since I last saw that gentleman.

Yes – the end gets closer every day! When the end comes no one will be around to say, "I told you so"! :)
