>One lesson I learned from Catholic Theology was that God gave man “Free Will”, that is the ability to do as he wishes. God does not interfere with the actions of mankind. He lets us do as we please.

>Some of us will do better than others. That term is subjective and meant to be. What is better a person acquiring great wealth or a person helping others? People may have a different opinion about that. In the end man will be judged for his deeds and not for his party affiliation. :)

My father was the son of a Southern Baptist minister who traveled around Kentucky doing tent revivals in the early 1900's. He was a deacon of the Baptist Church where we attended services twice on Sunday and again on Wednesday night. Obviously I have become way too liberal for my Southern Baptist roots and strayed from the flock early in my teenage years and haven't looked back. I still have deep Christian values and a belief in God, though very different from what I was taught in Sunday School. I have my own faith and don't belong to or agree with any organized religion. The Evangelicals are way out there in my opinion, but that is their right so long as no one attempts to impose their beliefs on everyone. What I think is scary is the deficit that is exploding to levels that will be very hard to control, American "rightious" arrogance attempting to manipulate parts of the world that we barely understand, the religious right agenda passing laws based on their idea of morality and rightousness, and Pat Robertson/Jerry Falwell like Supreme Court appointments interpreting the constitution in ways that the forefathers never intended.
