Hi Terry. These arguments are lost on a true believer. I once had an discussion like this with a true believer who claimed that the earth was only a few thousand years old. When I asked him about carbon-14 testing and the like he simply replied that this was God's way to "test" us, to test our faith. hmmm. ok.

For the record, I am niether claiming the existence or the non-existence of a God. I do believe that science appears to give us a reasonably accurate picture of the historical time line and explaination of the universe, including the "theory" of evolution (do the believers understand that all science is founded on "best-theories" until proven otherwise?). However, at the same time I find that there are many areas in "life, the universe, and everything", which defy scientific explaination.

>No I don't take any theory literally. I'm sure humans have "evolved" over a few thousand year. We'er bigger, stronger, faster and some of us prettier. :)
>
>!!!ALERT!!! Human evolution began about 4 Billion years ago as a DNA slime. Now the family of Man (Homo's) started about 3 million years ago. The Homo sapiens we have become evolved 100,000 to 30,000 years ago. Well before the "great flood" few thousand year you are implying in your statement of understanding above.

>Time can be verified statistically with reverse DNA morhing techniques or Carbon 14 dating. The math behind these facts is evidence not theory.

>Come - on! Admit it! You're a creationist. We can accept it it. You can hang around with us libertines and bohemians, but never try to pretend that creationism is worthy of rational thought.

>The theory of evolution ansers all the general questions regarding DNA's timeline. The theology of creationsm is a fairy tale that only serves two purposes:
>1) It makes the believers mind open to other lies. A problem with evengelicals is that they may place their faith ahead of the constitution. Given the vote fraud stories in Ohio, Carolina and FLorida, it would be easy to assume that a church lady at a polling station with paperless machines (and a liitle Access knowledge) could reverse the counts. After all, she would be working in the name of the faith which is taught to be above the "laws of men" (constitution). If you notice, only the votes in paperless precincts was the opposite of exit polls. The exit polls with almost a 100% match at all other voting venues. The accuracy of the exit polls is .00000001!
>
>2) Creationism also gives hopes to those who find it distastful to trace there ancestry back to the "dark" central plains of africa. Creationism, in this case, allows for the false notion of "spontaneous human evolution". The faithful vainfully fearing a "dark" ancestory can point tothis theory and clain to have no "dark" blood in their veins. In this instance, creationism serves a racist vanity.

>All I'm saying is we just don't know. So, no one sect can claim to have the facts.
>We do know enough about evolution to call it fact. The science of eveolution allows us to convict people of crimes or prove that someone was not involved in a crime. The stats for that are accurate to 1 in a billion!
In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends - Martin Luther King, Jr.
