Excuse me professor Thurber, I believe there are bonds formed and broken between molecules. Aren't molecules made of group of atoms? Isn't DNA (is it Di-rybo-Nuclaic-Acid?) anyways, isn't DNA made of carbons, nitrogen and oxygen? Aren't these atoms? Most of the type of mutation you talk about are harmful anyways. They are not the kind that will support life.

The amino acids the lattice the double helix are A - T - G - C. I forget the names. Sometimes a population that only expresses recessive traits - like blu eyed dogs - are confused with mutation/ A mutation usually occurs as a result of damage to the DNA (pre-miotic as in reproduction). These mutations can alter the species or create new ones. A species is a genetic group that can provreate. Damage to DNA after reproduction results in cancers or chronic illnesses.

There was experiment done years ago that I read about a group of scientists that simulated the environment of prehistoric earth to see if they could cause a batch of DNA to mutate and form simple strand of something. They made the environment rich in Nitrogen and raised the temperature and used simulated lightening flashes. What they foudn out was that the molecules acutally degenerated into individual components and never was able to reform.

DNA is an entrophic molecule - that means it "eats" other molecules. The AMino acids need to mix. Give something the right oven and ingredients - it can happen. I heard that a similar experiment worked.

These are strange times. About 5 years ago, a guy that goes to a big Baptist church here told me a NASA guy cam out and debunked evolution. The guy was a lonely old second stringer that would do anythingg for appeciation. It's easy to get appreciation in 12 step programs and evangelical meetings. I used to crash them for fun - just so I could reconoiter the crazies - they're a weird bunch!

Creationism is a designer philosophy that is a precursor to institutional rascism. I'd be careful about who you share that belief with. That is something you should keep secret. I can prove this statement
