I have had experience with Toshiba, Acer, HP, and Gateway.

Toshiba performance was far superior to Acer and HP. Had 12" screen and faster processor. Both the Acer and HP were very painful to use once I had exposure to the Toshiba. It replaced my development machine and I was very satisfied.

Then the Gateway came out with the 14" screen and decided to get one to try. Was very impressed and it has become my main development machine now. No way would I give it up.
