>>Most people in my neck of the woods do not know what a liter is or how to convert to cc or ci. I know! A liter is what a cat has when it has kittens! Or is that the mess a cat makes in the sand box? :)

>The thing is not to bother converting - just accept that you measure in litres, cms, etc. Mind you, it has its problems: we talk of a tall six-footer (man) but a one-point-eight-six-metrer? In UK we buy our petrol (gas) by the litre (as in Canada) but we want to know how efficient the car is and talk in MPG, which requires some tricky math. Our roads still have miles and yards as measurements because it would be too costly to replace all the signs.

>Another debate - are we daft driving on the LH side of the road? We WERE there first! Again, it would be too costly to change - all the interchanges would have adverse cambers, etc.

Terry;
Whenever people ask me how tall I am (this happens often because of my height or lack of shortness?) I tell them, "I am two meters high"! That confuses them and gives me a chuckle! :)
