It sounds strange... Where did you placed the commandbutton ?
I think you placed it inside a column (it would be better if it was the only control of the column) so that yu could check if he sparse property of he column is set to False, if the currentcontrol of the column match with your commndbutton and also give a glance to the enabled property of the commandbutton though it seem strange it could get fire with keyboard if it was disabled
